2003-06-05 10:44:00 | Hi there all At the moment I am doing some plastering at the Greytown Community Creche and someone set up a PC for them. P166 MMX forget the memory but the big problem is the hard drive which is only 421mb and they are trying to run Win98 on that!!! :P I would say that that guy was not really that much help for them. If there is anyone out there with a 2+gig hard drive that they no longer need it would be greatly appreciated. It is a shame as a few months ago I donated a 6gig drive. Thanks in advance mikebartnz

2003-06-05 21:03:00 | hmmmm have you tried www.trademe.co.nz??? theres usually heaps of smallish harddrives on there with no researve starting at a few dollars. Only problem is that since many of the harddrives are getting to be old there is a chance that you're gonna get some errors on them. You could reinstall windows? and take out all the crap that m$ puts on there. But then again, what applications will they be wanting to install on a 166??? - David

2003-06-05 22:07:00 | You can get a Win98 Installation down to 200Megs.. And a LOT can be done on a 166 in the right hands, although Memory would be the biggest enemy here. I was going to sell a 6.5Gig on TradeMe... But Im short on $ right now and was hoping to get around $40 for it. I know what its like though wanting it for a non-profit organisation like that.. Im doing same myself... If my finances clear up, then its all yours... Now I just have to find a way to do so ;-) If you wanna get in contact with me, Psycho*_*Sabertoth*@*hotmail will find somebody who happens to be me :-) Cheers Chill.

2003-06-06 06:19:00 | Could I make a friendly suggestion that you may want to consider writing your e-mail like, username at isp dot co dot nz You may of heard it before, but this can often be done to prevent other people from subscribing you to unnecessary e-mails. Hope it helps,

2003-06-06 06:27:00 | Nah,let it be spammed i reckon, its only going to cost microsoft money to pay for all the wasted bandwidth. As far as im concerned by being passive ms are promoting the practice. The account has been active for about 3 years now and gets approx 100 spam mails a day,a few more aint gonna hurt it. I would just hope the guy after the harddrive gives his e-mail a relevent heading so i dont delete it with my daily clean up.
