I think that there may have been some data redundancy and resending when packets were dropped, I just didn't know how to configure my modem to overcome that. End Result - more stable data transfer, and better surfing. NOW - If I can just educate my ISP Help Desk to this way of thinking rather than their suggestion to reformatt my hard drive. I wonder, for my wifes comp. - is there a similar (generic) command to run on her's (for 56 Kbps) that will make her 'puter just as stable ?? cheers Brian B) |
