Thank you for all your replies ... I got the internet sharing working ... the culprit was the NIC on the mandrake machine ... when Linux starts .. it has the Green [OK] for everything .. and i noticed a Red [FAILED] when it tries to start up eth0 with tulip.
So I guess something is not correct with the NIC .. maybe that particular chipset wasn't reconized by Linux so I changed to a Realtek chipset NIC and manually assigned an IRQ in BIOS to that NIC and everything worked :D |
