| 149891 | 2003-06-05 01:44:00 | i wanna copy pcworld cds, as i just got a few off a friend and he wnats them back but i wanna have a copy...is it illegal? if it is..i wont go ahead and copy also..how long a video can fit on a 700mb cd? like can a hour fit? or more? as i got a few old videos i want to put on cd so they last longer...but am wondering whats what.. as i cant get dvd writer/dvdwritable cds |

| 149892 | 2003-06-05 02:07:00 | About the video - it depends on the video format. an AVI can fit pretty much a full DVD movie on one CD, whereas a VCD will usually only do about half of the movie. I guess that would come down to how you want them saved to the CD. Mike. |

| 149893 | 2003-06-05 09:31:00 | as for the pcworld cds I would email the IDG boiys at Pcworld and ask, me thinks it will be Ok as most of the stuff it freeware or shareware or stuff you can down load if you want. dont take this as an OK to go copying, it just my thoughts...... |

You can make any video fit on one cd, at the cost of greater compression and lower quality. Lo. |

| 149895 | 2003-06-05 10:16:00 | Actually is true :) AVI compresses (with the help of DivX or similar) - From what I understand VCD generally doesn't compress... quality and resolution is what would make a VCD small enough to fit onto one CD. well whoever's right or wrong the basic idea is correct :) Mike. |
