150877 2003-06-08 07:41:00 Was looking at a hp psc1210 all in one scanner, printer and photocopier today. Anyone had any experience with them? not bad buying at $350. We would only use it for scanning the odd photo for email and normal printing.
We scanned and printed a couple of our photos while in the shop and the quality on hp photo paper was almost like the real thing.
Any comments?

thanks
Mike

150878 2003-06-08 08:09:00 I have an earlier model, HP PSC750.
Its been very good, for scanning and printing, the ability to use it as a high quality photocopier is a real bonus.
Its also been sold lately at about that price (I paid $800 and don't regret it as I needed it)

Go back and do the same thing, but print on normal paper :) most people don't use the photo paper much (not at THAT price ;)). You'll probably find that it's also got a photo ink cartridge in it instead of a regular 3 colour and black job. If you get them to set it up pretty much how you'd have it at home (3 colour cart and black cart and normal paper) and print a couple of shots on there and see what you think.

150881 2003-06-08 11:51:00 If you want a photographic printer, then thats what you should buy of course and not a multifunction.
If you want a general pupose printer then its likely to be quite adequate, and you get a good scanner and the photocopier as well.

My experience with plain paper (80 GSM photocopier) quality in the PSC750 is that its OK, but I usually use 90 GSM clay based paper ($32 ream) for higher quality output in colour, which is better.

I have printed photos, and the output was surprisingly good, but I would get them done at the local photo processor by choice.

All my general purpose printing is done on a Laser.
