151192 2003-06-09 06:12:00 I'm not sure if this is the best place for this, but I am with Net4u (Only because they won't cancel my account) and had serious problems with their Internet for about a month. After a long period of unusability I was forced to join another ISP in order to use the Internet; but the problem is is that my account was a couple of months in credit at the time of this and all of my queries to get this money returned have me directed to their no refunds policy.

Was anyone else burnt by these guys? Anyone know what a good next move would be to get my money back?

151193 2003-06-09 06:16:00 Try mentioning the Consumer Guarantees Act to them - sure they may have a no refunds policy, but if they're not living up to their end of the deal then they are required to either fix it or refund you.

151195 2003-06-09 08:31:00 I cancelled an account with an ISP because of their poor service, they said I couldn't do it over the phone and why I couldn't I had no idea, so they told me to go to their website, I tried arguing that their service wasn't reliable enough to even make it to their site (hadn't signed up with anyone yet because I was switching to ADSL and waiting installation), I tried getting someone higher than their helpdesk, basically they told me I couldn't speak to anyone other than them.

I forgot about the credit I had left with the ISP but your thread reminded me, I might see how things goes.
