| 151148 | 2003-06-09 02:00:00 | Hi Just wondering if anyone out there has either had the same problem and fixed it or knows how to fix this , before the release of dod 1.0 i was playing dod 3.1 with no problems at all but since i have installed this new dod 1.0 (modded not retail) i am having major problems with it, both through creating a lan game and playing online it does the following , once it loads from console it builds the server then when the game loads on the teams menu it freezes and sometimes it comes back if there is no sound ,otherwise the sound repeats itself over again, otherwise it just doesnt go past the menu screen, the funny thing is that when i launch cs 1.5 i can play lan game and dont have a problem with it a bit slow to respond to keys but playable none the less (have yet to try it online though) withe dod 1.0 it does the same with online or lan game. System Specs are as follows OS Windows 98se Amd duron 700mhz 256 Sd Ram Nvidia Riva Tnt2 64 Pro 32mb card running the onboard via sound card 56k modem ambient ham i know that with dod 1.3 - 3.1 when you installed it you had to change the path directory for it to something like c:\half-life\counter-strike\dod im wondering if i have to do the same thing with this new dod 1.0??? but it automatically installed it into the cs directory so it reads c:\sierra\counter-strike\cstrike.exe-console-game dod, do i need to change this or change the target???? i have unistalled and reinstalled this 3 times and im about to throw my pc out the window i have the latest detonator fx driver for the video card but am still on dx 8.1 (do i need dx 9.0) also someone else suggested updating half life to latest version????? do i really need to do that??? Well i hope i have given enough info for some one out there to help me out with this problem so i dont end up with my pc in peices after i throw it out the window lol. Help with this greatly appreciated. Steff. |

I have the same vid card as u and as soon as I installed dx9, I had lots of problems...maybe u would be better to stay with 8.1 |

| 151151 | 2003-06-09 04:39:00 | I've had zero probs with my DoD 1.0 (mod) install. All I did was rename my existing (3.1) folder to Dod 3.1 first, (so I could keep it around) then installed DoD 1.0. No problems. | Biggles (121) | ||
