151055 2003-06-08 17:01:00 When I try to log on to a site at neopets it says i haven't logged on and goes back to the log on page.No matter how many times I try to log on it goes back to the log in page.Netscape 7 works fine but internet explorer is causing that trouble.IS it a bug at their site or is there some settings in internet explorer 6 that i've accidentally ticked or unticked?

HELP!

151056 2003-06-08 19:24:00 My suspicion is that you have your cookie settings to high. Try setting it so that they can be accepted and then try logging in.

151060 2003-06-09 22:25:00 Clear all of your cookies and start again. I would also dump all temporary internet files, delete all index.dat files and generally clear the detritus built up from recent surfing. I find that site problems seem to reduce after a good clean out.

Go to the FAQs for info on deleting index.dat files, or use a DOS boot disk, search for and delete them all. There can be up to,20 or so hiding in there, I did a post on this some time back now but haven't time at the moment to search for it. All index.dat files will automatically rebuild on reboot to a few tens of KB by the way but they will be empty.

Cheers

151061 2003-06-09 22:41:00 One often-overlooked cause of this problem is your system clock. Make sure the time and date are set correctly. If incorrect, they can prevent cookies from being correctly date-stamped and recognized. Jim B (153)
151062 2003-06-10 01:11:00 It was when i cleared the temporary files that the site wouldn't work.I think the site neopets doesn't work only.I manage to log on here fine using ie .I guess netscape is not too bad.
I have norton cleansweep.Does it delete index.dat files?Hmm I never know about index.dat files.Interesting!
