151169 2003-06-10 05:16:00 Thomas thanks for that, have downloaded and run Atomic.exe.

The PC is 6 years old and perhaps it does need new batteries !.

151170 2003-06-10 05:20:00 Stu thank you, I had all of the adjustments made at time of having Win 98SE installed.

The PC is 6 years old so perhaps the battery does need re-newing.

151175 2003-06-10 23:48:00 Thomas thanks again.

See previous postings. It's 6 years old, so will take the back off and see if I can change the battery.

The old 286 machines were far more accessible, they had a string of 4 AA's which were easy to change.

Regards,

Les 3

Ps. Lost 30 mins. over the last 18 hrs.

151176 2003-06-11 01:46:00 Ok, if it's losing an hour a day, that's the battery. I thought your time was out by an hour. ;-)

You had an Amstrad, did you? :D

The battery might be one of the "coin" lithiums, which are relatively easy to change (just use care not to break the holder). Other types are the small NiCd (usually a blue tube about 15 mm dia and 25 mm long, and soldered in :-(), and the black matchbox sized lithium (usually held in with Velcro). The NiCds aren't too bad to change (Jaycar etc have them); the black lithiums are expensive (~ $40) but easy to change. My attitude would be to buy a 3 AA cell holder, and wire it to the plug off the old lithium, then use ordinary AAs or alkalines, but I'm a cheapskate.

The Atomic Clock must be pinging it right !, seems to be keeping time, but will wait and see.

Thanks again to all who responded.
