| 151249 | 2003-06-09 09:28:00 | I am looking at a couple of laptops to buy. One is a Toshiba 510CDT P133 32mb and the other , a Toshiba 480CDT P233MMX 64mb. I would think the 510 is later but seems to have the slower processer. Is this so? Also, the other option is a Compaq LTS 5250 which is slower but I have seen one and it looks quite well made. Any suggestions would be welcome. I'm using it for word processing mainly with Word2000. Thanks, asdex |

| 151251 | 2003-06-09 11:40:00 | I'll be running Win98se. So I guess although the 480 is a early model, its a higher spec PC. Is the difference between Toshiba and Compaq or is it a personal thing or are there some definite pros and cons? Thanks asdex |

I've never used a Compaq laptop, but have found no faults in any of the Toshiba ones I've used. Mike. |

Personally I would not want to have specs any lower than that for running Word even though the recommended specs are much lower. But then, you may not be as impatient as I am. ;-) | Susan B (19) | ||
| 151254 | 2003-06-19 08:56:00 | I bought a new laptop for my wife five days ago from DELL. The best thing since slice bread! Laptop gonna be used mainly for writing. Package came with a wordperfect productivity pact dvd/cdrw 2.8GHZ Pentium 4, 60GB HD , 512RAM and software disks with it. One yr guarantee with 2 yr extra for $100 well worth it. This is a better deal than buying a second hand one. All for under $3k....excellent value indeed. | sian (3984) | ||
