151646 2003-06-10 15:10:00 I made a *.bat file to execute a *.html file when I put it on a CD but it no work :-(!

The bat file contains a single line.

index.html

This line should work right. Or am I a Dumbass?
The *.html file is named the same thing as the line and the bat and html files are next to each other in the dir.

151647 2003-06-10 19:09:00 hamster, If you go to the FAQ section at the top right of the page, section 44 deals with how to make a autorun CD.

Try this direct link:

I would reccomend the link to Karens Ware as an excellent free program for achieving this.

151648 2003-06-10 19:43:00 There are several problems that can be occuring with this:
1 - index.html is not a valid statement in DOS - it only likes .COM .EXE .BAT etc - programs which have the ability to run by themselves. You should try using "START index.html" (without the quote marks)
2 - Command is pointing to the wrong directory. Depending how you have your autorun configured, if it is manually opening autorun, then you may find that the Command Prompt is actually pointing to C:\Windows\ or something like that.

A completely easier way to do this would be to use the Forums FAQ on making an Autorun CD and get index.html to load by itself - don't have a Batch file do the job for you. Using the bat file is pointless due to the fact it is unnecessary.
