151568 2003-06-10 09:34:00 This message that keeps popping up on my screen is driving me into the ground.
"Files that are required for windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability,Windows must restore the original versions of these files."

"Please insert Windows XP Profesional CD-ROM now".

When I do insert the CD nothing happens.I do have a retail version and it is bootable. When I select cancel the following message comes up.
"You chose not to restore the original versions of the files. This may affect Windows stability.
Are you sure you want to keep these unrecognized files versions?"
I select "yes" just to get rid of this message after trying everything else, however this whole message comes up all the time after I selected "yes".I have posted this message before and the advice I got was to type "sfc /scannow" in the "run" box. This only seem to help for a day or 2 and then the horrid message comes up again.I am running Windows XP Professional for 18 months now and this is the first problem that I have had.I have tried formatting my drive but the message came back. Please if there is anybody out there who can help.I have posted this question on a few other sites as well, but has not received anything yet, that has solved my problem. Thanks

151570 2003-06-10 11:24:00 You have run the sfc option and replaced the unknown system files with the originals? If the problem occurrs again in a couple of days then the only thing I can think of is you have a program re-writing those same system files back to the unknown type. Ask yourself what program/s you have installed after your format that could be doing this. Keep track of what programs you run and what are running in the background between the time you replace the system files and the message pops up again. A process of elimination might solve this prob. Are you running SFC with admin rights? Berryb (654)
