151512 2003-06-10 08:15:00 What version of Media Player are you using?

In MP 9 (and I think 7 & 8 as well) you can go Tools > Options > File Types and check MIDI to associate MIDI files with Media Player. Earlier versions of MP differ I think so it might be a different procedure.

151513 2003-06-10 09:18:00 Thanks Mike, I am using Ver 7. Went to TOOLS > OPTIONS > FORMATS and MIDI is already checked. Have no problems with running previously saved midi files, only when I try a net download. TEEBEE (563)

right click the midi file, 'click open with', choose media player,
and place a tick in 'always use this program, to open this kind of file.'

cheers,
