| 151432 | 2003-06-10 01:26:00 | My friend has a pentium 2, 300mhz, with windows 98. When he starts it up it gets part way into loading windows 98 then screen goes blank, including power light off and then computer shuts itself down. I can't remember the procedure for starting in safe mode or even if this may help. Can anyone suggest anything please | Merv (3987) | ||
| 151433 | 2003-06-10 01:29:00 | Try safe mode first as it may indicate whether it is a software or a hardware problem. To get into safe mode, hit F8 button continuously after the memory test, on bootup,until you get a menu onscreen. On there is listed safemode. |
