151993 2003-06-12 04:57:00 I am useing xp home and running xp office.
If I go to "my documents" and right click on it and select "send to" I get the options of only sending to a:\ or to d:\. I want to send to e-mail and to e-mail as attachment. This used to be available but it's not there now.
If I send from Word the options are available.
Thanks,
Jack

151994 2003-06-12 05:19:00 There should be an option to send to "Mail Recipient" which will open up your default mail client with the file attached.

No idea how to get that short cut back if it is not already there.

151996 2003-06-12 05:35:00 If you used to have this option before, was it with logging on with another user name/profile?

Do a search for mail recipient - you will need to include in the search hidden files/folders. Can you see this file in this directory?: C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\SendTo.
Does it also appear in anyone else's user profile under Documents and Settings?

151997 2003-06-12 05:44:00 JJJJ,

Note you will need to navigate to the correct folder e.g. in Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\{MYUSERNAME}\SendTo
This is a hidden/system folder so enable that option(s) under Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View before continuing.

In the Send To folder of the user there is (or should be) a file called desktop.ini. Inside that file is a list of 'special' filenames e.g.
[LocalizedFileNames]
Mail Recipient.MAPIMail=@sendmail.dll,-4
Desktop (create shortcut).DeskLink=@sendmail.dll,-21
Compressed (zipped) Folder.ZFSendToTarget=@zipfldr.dll,-10148
etc...
Now although that is interesting in some way you may need to recreate the shortcut anyway...

The mail recipient file is the one you want and you can (re)create this yourself (the hard way) -
by right clicking in the SendTo folder and creating a new Text Document but give it the full name (or rename it to) Mail Recipient.MAPIMAIL exactly NO .TXT extension as the .MAPIMAIL is the extension of that shortcut.

There are also programs available to enable the adding etc of shortcuts to the sento menu e.g. TweakUI, Tweak-XP etc.

HTH
Cheers, Babe.
