151851 2003-06-11 10:16:00 Our Word processor is MS Word 2000, came with the MS setup discs when XP went on this M/c. I believe this is up to Version 2003 now? Is there any advantage going from 2000 to 2003?. Would it be an MS Update, or does one need to purchase the new programme? TIA Poppa John Poppa John (284)
151852 2003-06-11 10:33:00 Hi Poppa John,

Have you read Geoff's article My secret life
(www.pcworld.co.nz) ?

For you to Update you would need to buy the MS Office Upgrade edition. Currently Office 2003 is still in Beta stage, the lastest stable office is Office XP.

Should you upgrade ??
My line of thinking is No, Unless there is a feature in the new office suite that you really need.

151853 2003-06-11 10:40:00 PJ I have Word 97, 2000 and XP (Word 2002) .

You would gain little from Word 2000 to Word 2002, relative to the $200 or so it would cost .

Particularly now you are married, you are only permitted so many Words, and none of them are allowed to be the last one .
