| 151843 | 2003-06-11 09:29:00 | Just a bit of news floating about and /or a warning! Patchou's handy little app MessengerPlus has a new sponsor C2Media, who distributes the dreaded"Lop dot com"! It comes with the MessPlus latest updated ver 2.10.0036 and although you have the option not to install it,it can easily be missed while using the installer! This version was posted on 23May 2003! With the new MSN Messenger 6 due for release in July,(I am already trialling it in Beta),MessPlus will be superfulous anyway as 6 has all its bells & whistles attached! Patchou has gone back to the drawing-board to re-write MessPlus as it is incompatible with the new Messenger6 in it's present form. Cheers,Kiwitas,;-) |

That will bring up some of the threads posted in the past! It used to be very hard to remove,but was made easier recently when it's owner put an un-install link on their Web-site! This is clear in the install 36a (not bothering with the 2.10.la la la) Agreed, lop dot com is not a good thing, but in Plus! it is COMPLETLY optional whether to install it or not. Rev Species 116 |

| 151848 | 2003-06-12 22:36:00 | Hi All, Be aware that the uninstall.exe from lop dot com, has the trojan musicsearch in it and will be picked up if you try to run it with AVG running. I don't know if this will be picked up with other virus scanners. Regards Repo74 |
