151771 2003-06-11 07:32:00 thanks for your help. i was trying to look at the sites i can download directly from, i.e. "paradise.net:ftp://debian.co.nz/mandrake" etc.

i have tried variations of that i.e starting with the "ftp" but to no avail.

your help appreciated

151774 2003-06-11 08:30:00 If you go to the LinuxISO site I mentioned, follow your nose til you find the RedHat distro.. then follow ya nose a lil more :-)

Ive downloaded Lycoris from there, pretty good service/speeds :-)

151775 2003-06-11 10:58:00 I managed to find it on the Debian ftp. Was it a recent addition or something??!

I think its better to download off there if you have JetStart, - cos u can get the full JS speed :) Anyway I'm off to try now hehe.

151776 2003-06-23 03:37:00 You need a capital "M" in Mandrake to get to the Paradise.net FTP server. I.e.

ftp://debian.co.nz/Mandrake

151777 2003-06-23 04:01:00 In any URL ... the case doesn't matter in the name of the site. But in any part of the URL after the "/", case matters/. If it says Mandrake, or RedHat, or UpAndDownCase, you must copy it exactly. The name of the site (or Fully Qualified Domain Name) is converted by the DNS servers to a set of numbers --- the IP address , with no case dependence. The "/" is the start "root" of a file location specifier in an OS on an actual machine. In most operating systems, case does matter. So it's compulsory. Graham L (2)
