| 152046 | 2003-06-12 06:28:00 | You need to boot from the CD. If you cannot boot from the CD, I think RaWrite is included on the CD, and you can make a Boot Floppy using that :-) |

Assuming your computer has the ability to boot from a CD, you should be displayed with a New Menu in place of the Windows Splash Screens. This will say "Press enter to install with the graphical interface, type 'TEXT' and press Enter to install through the text interface, or type "rescue" to restore your previous boot loader... Just press Enter here and you'll be sweet. There are a few things: 1 - if you are not able to boot from a CD, boot from a floppy - this requires you to go into Windows, open the CD drive and go into a folder (can't remember it's name sorry). Inside the folder will be RAWrite, just open that and write the boot disk to a floppy... 2 - if you are further unable to boot from floppy, then go into Bios (this requires pressing F1, F10 or DEL at your computers bootup) and depending on your bios depends on where this is located, however there should be a setting for Boot Disks or something like that. The options will be A, C, CDROM. Most likely you will have told your computer to boot from C first, just change this to A and put your boot disk in then save and reboot.. You should be able to install RedHat now CyberChuck |
