152267 2003-06-13 06:51:00 You should use a more recent version of Adobe Acrobat reader. You can find version 5 at least on cover disks of computer magazines. Alternatively, you can download the latest version from here:
Adobe Reader 6 - full version for Windows (www.adobe.com)

152268 2003-06-13 06:54:00 Oh! I didn't know version 6 was out already - but still, if it's version 6.0 you might be better waiting... .0 versions are just post-beta, and could still have bugs.

That said, I never find bugs in betas.

Well I am currently downloading the full version 6 of the reader.

This is what the full version 6 (16MB) has:
If you are distributing Adobe Reader 6.0, use the full version, rather than the basic version. The full version includes accessibility, search, multimedia, and eBook support, as well as Adobe Photoshop® Album slide show and electronic card support. This will help ensure that recipients have access to all available functions for Adobe Reader.

You can still get the basic reader version 6 @ 8.7 MB.

152270 2003-06-13 07:55:00 No problem with it yet. Had one or two but that was running it in rather odd circumstances and trying to close it while it was loading. -=JM=- (16)
152271 2003-06-13 08:48:00 People! Before you get carried away, our friend Deno still is requiring help, and your offering links to the reader isn't going to help him/her as he's referring to Adobe Acrobat 4.05, not Acrobat READER - downloading a new version of that would also require paying a hefty amount :)

Deno - what program is telling you that you need a Win2000 PS file? It may be asking for a W2k file because it doesn't know of WinXP, so it may still be compatible with XP, as XP is just a later version of W2k. See how things go.

Mike.

Oops :8} - I had checked that out and found a 4.05 Reader version and assumed that was what Deno was referring to.

My apologies.

152273 2003-06-13 11:55:00 possibly version 4.05 is not compatible with XP - as I have version 5 & I had to download an XP upgrade for that - check out their website to make sure - www.adobe.com xtraka (1984)
152274 2003-06-13 14:19:00 Deno's my dad. And yes it is Acrobat. Not acrobat reader. He downlded the file at work (900kb/s one time) but it wouldn't burn so he had to email it home (back to 56kb/s). Took an hour to download and then Windows XP Pro disabled the *.exe file so we couldn't get it. I searched but couldn't find OLK5 temp folder of Outlook (checked where the file was: c:/docu & sett/Admin/Local settings/Temporary Inte.../OLK5/adobe 6.exe)
But no OLK5. Pointless. Fear none it should be on a PCWORLD disk anyday now.

He downloaded Jen C's file.

That Reader v6 should be on a PC WORLD disk soon.[i/]
