| 152153 | 2003-06-13 04:47:00 | I want to merge text from 2 cells into a 3rd. Cell A1 has AB, B1 has CD. Want C1 to be ABCD. Excel help says to use the formula =A1&B1 in cell C1, but it doesn't work for me. Anyone got any ideas? | wotz (335) | ||

| 152155 | 2003-06-13 06:08:00 | THE FORMULA YOU GAVE SHOULD WORK. I USE IT AND CROSS CHECKED IT. IT IS A SHORTER VERSION THAN THE COCATENATE FORMULA =a1&b1 Notes. No spaces, no quotation marks. Regards Graham Bockett |

| 152156 | 2003-06-13 06:39:00 | I found it was some kind of formatting problem with the sheet. It was created from another application and when I inserted a column it only showed the formula, not the result. I haven't worked out how to fix it, but can work around it. | wotz (335) | ||
| 152157 | 2003-06-13 08:08:00 | Try putting a comma before the ampersand eg. =A1,&B1 Mike. |
