152086 2003-06-13 01:34:00 Couple of questions.
Purchased a new PC running Win XP and downloaded “power toys for Win XP” of the latest PC World CD and ran a full installation.
The program installed “Tweak UI”, ( the essential item ), along with “power toy calculator”, “slide show wizard”, “timer shot” and a “readme”.
That’s it --- nothing else.
But there are a few other toys I’d like to test but they don’t seem to have loaded.
Have been to control panel --- add / remove programs, and tried to reinstall all components and they all carry the icon that the component will be installed, but they just ain’t there ????????
Next question.
Now with a machine with a little more grunt, I thought I’d give one of the game demos on a previous PC World disk a go, ( Medal of honor --- May 2002 ).
The install process looks as if it’s going to happen but then I get a dialogue box that asks for the next disk to be inserted.
There isn’t one and as far as I’m aware there wasn’t one and the install process cancels.
Any one else have this problem ????
