152695 2003-06-15 09:27:00 Yes, I agree with Peter H. The price of their compatible ink carts are excellent, and the service was amazing.

Ordered online one afternoon, delivered at my address next morning.

However, to split hairs, after printing with the compatible colour cart, I can detect a very slight difference in the print quality, compared with the branded cart. It is only very slight.

I have been warned of all sorts of dire problems if I don't use HP's own laser ink for our HP6L printer?
I read that some cheap inks fade which I suppose is only a problem with colour photos.
Is this hype by manufacturers to keep the consumables business?
Which alternative inks are reputable?

152697 2003-06-15 11:14:00 Winston001. Have refilled our epson cartridges from day 1. Started with a 460 printer & ran it to death. Now we have an Epson Stylus C20UX (which I believe is a 480 in a "new" case??). The "480" has an extra fin in the cart. holder to prevent using older carts, crafty. I still buy my genuine Epson ink from a supplier on the Shore in Auckland & have no complaints about the quality of the ink. Refilling can be messy & if you can't live with "coloured" fingers, use those very thin "hospital" gloves. After a few goes you get the hang of it.I usually do it at night & put It, Them, back into the printer & leave them to "settle" till next morning, do a "clean print nozzles" & is usually Ok.
