152579 2003-06-15 01:09:00 hiya!
Every time I boot into win XP, not one, but two instances of windows messenger greet me from my normally petite taskbar. Thing is, I would rather have NO instances of it...

Thanks in advance...

152580 2003-06-15 01:43:00 You can download and run a program to do it for you from here (www.dougknox.com) Pheonix (280)
152581 2003-06-15 01:49:00 Also if you open it up, & have a look under tools options you should be able to stop it from starting up. & Have a look under add/remove progume (I think windows comportment) you shroud be able to uninstall it

Hope this helps.

152582 2003-06-15 03:40:00 MSN Messenger will also appear when you run Outlook Express. Turn it off in OE by going to Tools | Options and remove the tick from "Automatically log on to Windows Messenger". tommy (2826)
152583 2003-06-15 08:52:00 Do you have Norton Personal Firewall or Norton Internet Security running?

Mike.

152584 2003-06-16 13:37:00 Go to Control / Remove software / Windows Progams

A list of the installed Windows items will be displayed. Un tick the ones you want to remove & follow instructions. You may be asked for the installation disk.

You can also use "Anti Spy" from PC world disc which removes all sorts of annoying things.
