152435 2003-06-14 00:38:00 I was dual booting windows 98 and lycoris linux, when I decided to install Linux on another computer. I used MS-DOS' FDISK to delete all the non-dos (Linux) partitions leaving only the one windows partition.

Now I have a problem; when I boot up the system, the boot loader (GRUB) loads and tries to boot Linux (Linux is not there, remember). It will not boot straight into wiondows. All of my data on windows is still there, I can see by using a start-up disk.

How do I control what boots at startup, I do not want GRUB to boot anymore because it stops me booting into windows but I do not know how to get rid of it (I have deleted all of the non-dos partitions).

Any help from Linux experts?

Regards,
Ben

152436 2003-06-14 00:47:00 Hi, I did this last night. I booted with the 98 Boot disk and at the prompt typed "Fdisk /mbr" it kills the linux boot loader and it should boot straight to Windows.
I've got Linux booting from a Linux boot disk. Thanks to Chilling Silently. (think it was him) :)

152437 2003-06-14 00:48:00 Try booting off a Win98 Boot Diskette
when you're in DOS, type:
FDisk /mbr
Should get rid of it :-)
