1340123 2013-05-07 13:45:00 Does anyone know where I can buy the USB 2.0 version of the WD 1TB Elements portable (2.5") HDD? I can only find the 3.0, even pricespy doesn't show any 2.0s. Vicx (11114)
1340124 2013-05-07 14:06:00 USB 3.0 is USB 2.0 if it's plugged in to a USB 2.0 port...

1340125 2013-05-07 14:21:00 I know, already bought a 3.0 but it's not compatible with my TV, unlike my 2.0 one. Emailed Samsung, they confirmed it. Vicx (11114)
1340126 2013-05-08 00:51:00 You sure its not just coz of the filesystem you're using? They'll say that coz they're lazy and don't actually know.... Chilling_Silence (9)
1340127 2013-05-08 03:35:00 both NTFS and FAT32 work on my TV. My 2.0 HDD is all in NTFS and so is the 3.0, but only the 3.0 isn't working and I've tried 2 of them. Vicx (11114)
1340128 2013-05-08 05:58:00 Weird problem. I can't find 1TB ones but the 2TB isn't that much more than the USB 3.0 models you mention www.pp.co.nz
Actually I did find a few on pricespy but not from any retailers I'm familiar with and not really that cheap.

1340129 2013-05-08 06:13:00 I wouldn't mind a 2TB but there aren't any in 2.5", I don't want a desktop sized HDD, just the portable USB powered one. Vicx (11114)
1340130 2013-05-08 06:25:00 I wouldn't mind a 2TB but there aren't any in 2.5", I don't want a desktop sized HDD, just the portable USB powered one.Errrrrrrrrr yeah there are. An example from Ascent 2 TB USB powered USB drive 2.5" (www.ascent.co.nz) All they are is basically a Laptop HDD in a case with a USB connection :) wainuitech (129)
1340131 2013-05-08 06:27:00 whoa $255, I'm not that desperate. I'd prefer the WD Elements as they're the best value for money. Vicx (11114)
1340132 2013-05-08 06:36:00 Looking at the suppliers site, elements only go to 1 TB

4975

Looking at the price between the elements and Passport, the passport are only roughly $20 more ( 1 TB size)
