Most tend to think that they better than working at McD's or some other low paying job. If your offered a low paying job, take it. Its better than getting paid way below the minimum wage while on the dole. Can always find a another job while working at a job you don't like. |

| 1315192 | 2012-12-07 05:36:00 | I've been turned down on a temp admin role at the landfill. Applied for plenty of admin roles, got turned down before the deadline closed. As with that agency. Financial aid aside, anyone can go in and ask about employment advice. They might be financing themselves or maybe they are working casually but looking for a proper field. They're not really good in that area. With Telemarketing - I cannot see myself cold callling people 7hrs a day and just force a sale thru. Many yrs ago, one job was misrepresented so they got us (there was a no. of us) together with some of the door knockers, we got driven 30 minutes away to maybe a lower income area and started selling people cellphone packages, after that we had the job job interview. How many of you guys enjoy being contacted by door knockers or telemarketers ;) And if you are wondering if they are wearing Telecom (or any other company) Photo ID tags. They don't work for them. Each door knocker had Telecom tags. |

| 1315194 | 2012-12-07 05:59:00 | But seriously .. the only interviews I have gotten are those in $60K+ lots. I actually don't mind after my quick retraining at the uni to get more into #'s, it was also a similar large org, I don't mind a sig. wage drop I just don't get interviews with those but the ones I do are $60k+. As with the door knockers. They say that you should always be professional and polite so I (we) just went thru with it, had the interview after and politely declined the offer - which also had the clause requiring 1 week of unpaid trial period employment  |
