1315172 2012-12-04 18:03:00 Infinity ... you lost me after Desktop Support ... but for $100k p.a., an expense account AND a sexy secretary (must know how to make a decent coffee) ... I could probably bull$sh!t my way through the rest of it ...

Just send flight times and book me into a decent penthouse apartment somewhere ... I'll clear my schedule for Tuesday next week to interview you ... :D

Edit: Forgot about the car ... mid range European should be OK ... ;)

Err, ok, so forgetting about the car, I then have to assume "mid range European" now refers to the sexy secretary. ;)

1315173 2012-12-04 22:15:00 Well, I'm still looking too . I wanted to get more into no . 's just a slightly detour from what I did before . Jobs have dried up, worked mainly in public sector before . Admin jobs won't even look at me .

I need to follow up with stupid winz . I think they are just meeting their own performance quotas .
I took a student loan out for my studies for that slight detour .
I digged into my own previous savings for 2 or so months .

I then signed up after that cos I have paid my taxes before and I am entitled . Got the weekly part but not the other bits cos I had (asset) savings but little interest (income) from the 5% or whatever . .

They said they couldn't help me after they read my CV .
Some time after they got me in and asked if I wanted to apply for admin or cooking jobs .
Then very soon after that, one of them rang me and asked me to do cold calling people at home and sell people stuff . I turned that down and my pay's been docked .

Yes . . . . you can't refuse unfortunately .

Best to get one yourself . . . . . Seek, TM jobs, WINZ do have a listing you can go through, they're not all crap, and you don't actually have to be on a benefit to register as a job seeker . Of course, not being o the dole means they ignore you and you don't have priority, but hey, it's another job listing . .

It will go quiet now until after holidays have finished .
You could try temping, some agencies are better than others, you have to find the right ones . . . . .

True - you don't have to be on a benefit - just register as a Job Seeker.
False - if you match the requirements for the job, benefit or not your CV / Register of Interest will be processed by the Work Broker in charge of the Vacancy.

I'll report back cos they told me to see the Job Broker  haven't seen her before, she just rang me about that telemarketing role. Wasn't aware of being docked until I got their snail mail.

As for temping agencies. Nope, have been in contact with three of them, they won't put me forward for temping, I've requested and they acknowledged. I got the very odd fixed term or perm interview though.

I am on that weekly thing :xmouth: but the roles that remotely may be suitable for the time being are things like admin or data entry but employer's prob overlook me - from my experience with agencies. One of them put me forward but the employer came back and said overqualified. It's a lost cause. I gather normal people have follow up appointments, they don't bother with me. Haven't had one other than these sudden work broker ones.

They're extra for me, tie my over Xmas when the job market heats up a tad perhaps. They can dock all they want. That's what I thought about when I got their letter but felt it was more professional to follow up with them and not be nagged or red listed. If they want people to do telemarketing, there are more suitable people for that and it's a more win/win situation. Younger people perhaps, I heard that uni students do it part time. And they could at least tried admin with me, I have experience with that even thou I may be overqualified with the other stuff I have done.

1315177 2012-12-05 07:00:00 Those numbers at your level are staggering, but in reality there would be half wannabe, a quarter couldbe and a quarter that would vie fairly for the position. All the best in your job search and if you want to stand out with your applications I suggest you have a look at a book called What Colour is my Parachute. Sanco (683)
