1340416 2013-05-09 10:47:00 Hey all,
My familiy wants to purchase a new TV. We want it to be 55 inch, Full HD, LCD and Smart. We have our eyes on a few LG models and a Panasonic model. Which do you think are better? If you have any previous experience with either LG or Panasonic smart TVs please share. Or if you have any other recommendations.
Sorry for spelling and grammar., I'm rubbish at typing on a tablet!
Thanks!

1340417 2013-05-09 10:58:00 Back in January 2013 Consumer recommended either the LG 50PA6500 or the Panasonic Th-P50ST50Z. These are both 50" Plasma TVs. Whether they are still current models I don't know.

1340418 2013-05-09 11:56:00 I'd personally go LG, and go for an LED TV last that price too! Also, try get one with WiFi built in coz most people don't bother with running a network cable to it so they miss out on many of the features... Chilling_Silence (9)

1340420 2013-05-09 22:23:00 I purchased a Panasonic THL47WT50 a couple of months ago , all the gears LED 3D WIFI smart tv, just wished it was the 55 one but its brilliant , a bit expensive compared to some other models but worth it PeterQ (16315)

Do you find you use 3D much (if at all). Currently on the hunt for a 55" LED, but unsure if it's worth the extra for 3D in reality.

1340422 2013-05-09 23:28:00 Pretty much never use 3D. It was a nice gimmick for the first week but that's about it.
Still, for us the reason for going for this one wasn't the 3D, but for the built-in WiFi and a few other minor little things... Plus, bigger is better :D

I think ours was the LG 55LM7600.

1340423 2013-05-10 01:14:00 Yeah was looking at a Samsung DSE had for $1888, 55" LED 3D etc. I always thought Samsung were pretty good at TV's but FairGo/Consumer seem to think otherwise. Alex B (15479)
1340424 2013-05-10 01:55:00 Yeah haven't been super impressed by them personally. They're decent if you're on a budget though :) Chilling_Silence (9)
1340425 2013-05-10 08:19:00 Thanks for your replies guys! Thinking to get LG. Do you have any in depth reviews which I could have a read of that would be great! :) Nikit07 (16761)
