1339882 2013-05-06 10:39:00 I am experiencing problems with Skype, when I open the program I get a message as follows:

Your current security settings prohibit running Active X controls on this page. As a result, the page may not present correctly.

I run Windows XP Pro SP3, I use Firefox as my browser do not use Internet Explorer for anything, and use Eudora for e-mail

I can have a Skype connection with voice only, both inbound and outbound, but if I tray to use a video call, the system falls over and shuts down.

The following message appears on the screen:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

Then we get a memory dump and the machine shuts down.

The technical Information is as follows:
***Stop,0X0000007E (0XC0000005,0XB64F9480,0XBA4F7924,0XBA4F7620)
***7vuvc.sys address B64F9480 base at B6453000, datestamp 4e4e2ba0

I have uninstalled Skype, and down loaded again but the problem persists

Any help and advice on sorting this problem would be highly appreciated.

PS. I asked about a problem I had a couple of weeks ago with the computer grinding to a halt, Is it a Virus, hardware failure or what.

Problem turned out to be security software supplied by the Royal bank of Scotland, that interacted with just about everything - it was running full time on steroids and certainly fouled up the system.

1339883 2013-05-06 11:30:00 Have a read of www.fixkb.com May or may not fix it.

The fact you don't use IE can in fact be the cause,( IE flash not updating) if its is flash related. You'll find the setting in IE can in fact impact other programs as well.

Try with resetting the settings to default. Start IE, go to Tools -> Internet Options – Security. Press the “Reset all zones to default level”.

1339884 2013-05-06 22:37:00 7vuvc.sys belongs to the cam drivers. Thats whats crashing the system. Not Skype. Uninstall the drivers then see if there's a later version on the Logitech site Speedy Gonzales (78)
