| 1339764 | 2013-05-05 10:53:00 | Just to inform about newish technology. The guy who made my new computer warned me not to defragment it's Solid State Drive! Apparently it wears out the circuits. I am posting this because Solid State Drives are so new. I like the idea of a drive with no moving parts. |

| 1339769 | 2013-05-06 09:55:00 | Defragging will cause a shorter life of the ssd esp if theres not a lot of free space left, doesn't pay to run them full, --- Have a read helpdeskgeek.com also This article (www.dpreview.com) explains thing in a more simple way. BUT while you don't need to defrag a SSD, looking at their life expectancy, according to Intels Spec's, Read the Quick Prints on the right (www.intel.com) -- If they are correct the Drive will last longer than you'll be alive , 1.2 million hours, which after getting out the calculator :) is over 136 years. |

| 1339771 | 2013-05-06 23:10:00 | 'supposedly' Win8 is smart enough not to allow you to defrag a SSD Defrag was overated anyway, its not 1998 anymore. :) there were some who used to claim RAM defrag was a good idea as well |
