1314774 2012-11-26 04:22:00 The USA is now doing so much fracking that they are starting to be energy independent.

Manufacturing is moving BACK to the USA. (they now assemble flatscreen tv's there!)

All because of lower energy costs due to fracking technology.

So stuff the Geens and their wild accusations and lets get Fracking here.

The energy companies have been fracking for years!

1314775 2012-11-26 05:04:00 That takes the fracking cake.
They should start in Tauranga, then?

Did you see the American family on TV that can set fire to the "water" that comes out of their tap?

1314778 2012-11-26 05:24:00 Fracking is worse than nuclear generation for danger to us and the country and I certainly would build nuclear power plants here due to the earthquake risk. I don't want to be able to use the water from my tap to run my vehicle.

Fracking is just plain stupid, if you think it is worth it go and live in small town America where they do it

1314782 2012-11-26 05:53:00 There is certainly a lot of risk to the environment with fracking. Ground water can be contaminated. Methane gas coming to the surface is another problem.

The cheap energy would be nice but there are always risks involved.

Some light reading here (www.sciencenews.org).
