153049 2003-06-17 02:41:00 Is it possible to un-install 'windows media player'. It does not appear in the control/install/uninstall windows control settings.
I never use it and it is wasting space I reckon. I can not get the radio stations and i don't down load music. Does it do anything other that the latter? Tried to make it do 'stuff' but no go Except movie trailer that i never look at.
Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
Cheers.

153050 2003-06-17 02:45:00 First off, what version of WMP do you have, and what OS?

If you have WinXP/ME and WMP9, then you can only do it by using System Restore.
If you have Win9x/2K and WMP9, then it IS under Add/Remove Programs.
If you have 8.0 and XP then it is possible, but for the extra couple of megs you gain, its not worth the hassle to be honest, upgrade to 9!
If you have 7.0 and Win9x, then it is under Add/Remove Programs.
If you have 6.x on Win9x/NT/2K, then no.. its a tiny app anyway!

Post back your details, although I think that's covered most!

Cheers

You may need to install the relevant codec's, depending on the file type, it may be a DivX, .Mov etc.

153052 2003-06-17 05:10:00 I have windows media 7.01
Windows me.
Was 98 but upgraded to me.

You reckon download windows media 9 and things might be more interesting Dont mean to uninstall it if it is only small but things might work better ie radio stations etc As you say it really is not worth the trouble (i may get into)
Hey I reckon your name 'chilling_silent' is cool and a hoot.
