| 152962 | 2003-06-16 09:49:00 | I am unable to access some sites or their functions on IE6. I suspect it is a Java problem. I have enabled every java function I can see in the Tools area, but no go. The problem manifests itself when I try to link to some links on a page, ie the weather map on the Ihug home page. It refuses to operate. What is a poor boy to do????? | pburt (1226) | ||

| 152964 | 2003-06-16 10:21:00 | Hi pburt. While hovering over the ihug weather map, I see down in my status bar the text javascript:popper(blabla etc). I'm not too up on Javascript but I do know Java and Javascript are 2 different animals. I have tweeked (read that as 'screwed-around-with') my IE6 and internet connection settings up the yingyang, so I have no idea what IE6's default settings are, but I am able to view ihug's pop-up weather map with the following settings. May I suggest before you change any of these things, that you just write down how it was beforehand. Here's what I'm currently using - In IE6, Tools, Internet Options,Security tab, click on the Internet icon and click the button, Custom Level... Way down near the bottom under the heading Scripting, I have Active Scripting set to Enable, Allow paste operations via script, set to Prompt, and Scripting of Java applets, set to Enable. Good Luck, Morri |

In Internet Explorer go to Tools\Internet Options 1/ On the General tab press "Delete Files" then tick "Delete All Offline Content" then press "OK". Now press "Delete Cookies" then "OK". 2/ On the Security tab press "Default Level" then press "Apply" 3/ On the Privacy tab (IE6 only) press "Default" then press "Apply" 4/ On the Advanced tab press "Restore Defaults" then press "Apply" then "OK". |
