152899 2003-06-16 05:31:00 WHAT. We have jetstream with a limit of 600mb. ISP is watchdog.

On the Telecom usage meter we average about 700mb, and always stress trying to keep it down.

This has been happening for about a year.

Now, we ring watchdog, and try and upgrade. They tell us WE ARE USING 180 MB A MONTH on average.

AAARRRRGGGH. CONFUSION.

What a waste of money. Could have downloaded a lot of stuff. eaaarrgh.
Dont Understand.

152900 2003-06-16 05:40:00 The Telecom usage meter thingie never corresponds to what Paradise says I use.

I find the Paradise members traffic page invaluable, it breaks it down by the hour, then by the connection (IP address). Maybe Watchdog offers you a similar web based interface?

152901 2003-06-16 05:55:00 Yeah, i have looked there, but the graph showes nothing. Everything is based on 0 days, and 0 GB used. mejobloggs (264)
152902 2003-06-18 12:49:00 You simply can't rely on the Telecom usage measure. I have read about this in several articles.
Telecom insist that its fine -- the rest of humanity disagrees!
Like thge other respondent I am with Paradise and their useage indicator is excellent, accurate and full of info (daily use/hourly use even!)

152904 2003-06-18 23:45:00 I have a Jetstream connection with Paradise, but when I go there to check usage, I just get linked to the Telecom Jetstream meter.
What's the trick?

152906 2003-06-19 03:07:00 Thx Jester, but that's where I tried - for me it just links back to the useless Telecom site.
R U using Jetstream or Jetstarter?
cheers

152908 2003-06-19 05:41:00 I hope you all know, there are some great free tools that live in your system tray (or as a service) and monitor/report internet usage, via a number of ways.

Just search for them.
