| 152820 | 2003-06-16 02:03:00 | In Word XP (and earlier versions) I have a problems with numbering and styles. 1. If I use a style called 'Numbered' for a few parapgraphs and modify the style (such as changing the indent), 2. then go back Normal, then once again use the Mumbered style... 3. the numbering continues form the previous use of Numbered. I use 'Re-start numbering'... and the changes I made to Numbered in step 1 diisappear; it reverts ot the orginal style. What I want is to (a) re-start numbering and (b) keep any changes to styles that I make. Thank you. |

If the original numbered text has a heading style, then it will carry over the numbering secuence every time its used, irrespective of the content of paragraphs in between. That is how Headings need to work, but not plain formatting Styles. |
