152915 2003-06-16 05:36:00 hi all,

have just purchased some parts to do my first major upgrade on a computer. The parts purchased were a Intel 2.4B Ghz 533 Mhz processor, an ASUS P4PE Motherboard, 2x 256MB DDR2700 RAM and a Leadtek Winfast A340 TDH Video Card. I got some other things as well, but these are the important ones at the moment.

I have installed the CPU, RAM and Video Card and proceeded to check that everything so far was working. I turned the power supply on and everything started up but that was it - nothing came on the monitor, no beeps, nothing. CPU was working, i could feel the heatsink was warm, green lights were on the Video Card etc. Any ideas why my system won't boot up?? My only guess is the power supply, its a 300W one that came in a case i got from DSE at the end of last year. Do i need a bigger power supply??

Thanks in advance

152916 2003-06-16 05:57:00 unplug hdd, fdd data cables and power cables to see if u can see and hear.

since your power supply is not old, it must be a P4 PSU.

if still not luck, remove ram, then video card.

also set P4PE as default. dont overclock it yet.
