| 153404 | 2003-06-18 10:40:00 | I installed mandrake 9.1 on its own hard drive, the install all went well until it rebooted. I hangs for around 3 minutes on a bios data check, it reports success, then just hangs for another minute, then as mandrake boots it reports LILO keytable read checksum error. I can run a rescue from the cd, this fixes it until next reboot. I deleted 9.1 & installed mandrake 9 with original mandrake disks with exactly the same result. If i install redhat it runs all ok. I know nothing about linux except mandrake is supposed to be the easiest to install & use. The system is an Asus P4S8X-X with SIS chipset SIS648/SIS963/W697. I was wondering if mandrake has bios compatibility issues. Help please Phil |
