Tks

Depends on How much space it has taken up
Also you know you can limit how much space restore takes up???

If you install a progume or something like that & it does damage to your computer then you will not be able to restore back to a previews time, because of that I always leave it on.

If you are running out of Hdd space then yes you can turn it off & back on, but I don’t see the point off turning it off (part from giving you more space back, But I only do that rarely)

PS: what OS do you have??? Win XP or ME? If you have ME I know there is a patch for restore

Hope this helps :)

153290 2003-06-18 09:04:00 You can see how much space System Restore is currently using by first turning on the option to see hidden files and folders. To do this in explorer go to Tools > Folder Options > View tab. Select the "Show hidden files & folders" option. Click apply and OK. Then go to C:\ and you will see a folder named _RESTORE. Right click on this folder and select properties. The size is how much space System Restore is currently using.

System Restore can use up to 10% of you free HDD space. You can reduce this allowance by going into Control Panel > System > Performance tab > File system button. You can then lower the slider so that less space can be consumed. You will still keep your recent restore points, but the older points will drop off.

I personally would keep System Restore running, but just reduce the amount of space it is allowed as it does come in handy when things unexpectantly go pear-shaped.
