| 153286 | 2003-06-18 09:11:00 | Read it off the chip or identify the model and release ver off the sticker, usually on the back of the modem. SysoftSandra might tell you. There are heaps of different chips and revisions out there, even for the same model. A good place to go is Modem Help (www.modem-help.co.uk) Have a look around the manufacturers and chipset ID links. | 153287 | 2003-06-19 09:04:00 | A quick and easy way to find out the chipset details of your dialup modem is by downloading the list modem app file (www.conexant.com) from Conexant then extracting it and running 'ListMdm.exe'. Once it has done it's thing, it should show the results in a dos/command box. Press enter to close the box. The results will have been saved in a text file called 'LISTMDM.LOG' in the folder you extracted the program to. Now go to google (http://google.co.nz/) and enter the vendor id followed by a space then the device id and press enter. Hopefully this will lead you in the right direction. I found this handy little app from this (www.conexant.com) page. Note: Although it says it is for Conexant modems only, it works on identifying most, if not all dialup modems. Full instructions for using the app can be found here (www.conexant.com). |
