| 153319 | 2003-06-19 06:00:00 | Thanks for your reply guys. I wanted a pop up killer coz clicking on some sites, like in some forums (not PressF1), EVERY time you open a topic to read, an ad appears, and contiously flashes in the taskbar etc. The ads are not the kind that appears just once everytime you visit website and do a bit of browising within the website - it pops up every time you refresh the website (i.e going back to the main page), and its annoying. Maybe its just me, but it slows down my internet pages' loading time... |

| 153321 | 2003-06-19 22:26:00 | CS, thanks for that :) I just remembered that I did download Mozilla firebird into Mandrake 9 . 0, and for some weird reason, it refused to install - I've forgotten what exactly the error message was, because since then I've formatted my hard drive and installed Win98 and Win XP onto it again, not yet installed Mandrake - am looking around for a better Linux :) maybe red hat??? caffy |

And that went well. Then proceeded to install it and error message came up saying "The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program." I believe I have downloaded a legitimate copy from the proper website (as I remember downloading from there before), so how can they be corrupted?? caffy |

| 153323 | 2003-06-19 23:20:00 | The way I installed it was suid to root, and in a konsole window typed: #tar xvzf MozillaFirebird*.tar.gz It the extracts the files/folders, and I made a shortcut or whatever the heck KDE calls them to the /MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird (I installed it to the root folder ;-)). RedHat.. Cant go wrong there, only it lacks a few media players.. But no fear, we can help ya out there ;-) :-) Cheers Chilling_Silence |
