| 153298 | 2003-06-18 07:07:00 | Have a few questions... 1) Can anyone recommend a good ad-popup killer? I had Kill Popup before, but it wasn't that good, it blocked pop ups, but also blocked new windows from opening! (i.e clicking on a link had no effect, the Kill-Popup blocking it) 2) What does MYOB stand for? I've been seeing a lot of their ads recently in computer mags, and wondered what it stood for? 3) Anyone know of a good website for information on school subjects. I take Year 13 Biology and Maths with Stats, and I though since I'm on my computer a lot, I could do some learning off the internet.. I've done some searches, but can't find relevant websites...Could someone please direct me to the right place? 4) Where has mailwasher disappeared to? I downloaded it few months ago, and the install software was still in my "install" folder. Recently my hard drive was copied onto another hard drive, and then formatted, and Win98 and WinXP were installed. I went to my install folder expecting to find the install software for mailwasher (as there were software for other programs like yahoo messenger, etc) and it's not there. Do i have to download it again? Just asking to make sure it not hidden somewhere.. I think thats all the questions I've got for now, I'm sure i remember having more questions... :) cheers, caffy |

Both have an option to only block "unwanted" popups. So onclick ones still open. > 2) What does MYOB stand for? | 153300 | 2003-06-18 07:15:00 | 1) To block ads the Hosts file is the best and you can also block any site you want with it. In Win2000 and XP you will find it in C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc, in Winxx you will find it in the Windows dir. 2) MYOB is an accounting program. Can't remember off hand what it stands for. |

| 153305 | 2003-06-18 10:12:00 | I personally would not recommend installing a popup stopper as they can interfere with loading of some sites. I don't understand all the concern with trying to avoid the occasional one that appears, it is not as if they are appearing with every website and they are easily deleted. For a good homework site with links to every subject go here (school.discovery.com) |
