| 153112 | 2003-06-17 10:45:00 | i was searching a modem driver for a friend i found one he installed it.. then he noticed the new function "modem on hold" i believe this is the V.92 function thingy he says a message pops up when a call comes in asking you to ignore or disconnect i did a search on xtra but in the faq section it clearly says that they do not support V.92 has anyone tried the V.92's new function using xtra? could it have supported this function and not updated the faq also does is there any other isp out there that supports this function? ..might be a cheap alternative for me... adsl is just too costy... |

| 153115 | 2003-06-17 12:31:00 | You could try changing ISPs to quicksilver? Their 56k service is 3x quicker for http, mail because they compress the data. Sounds cheap, and they possibly they support v.92. www.quicksilver.co.nz |

Sounds cheap, and they possibly > they support v.92. > > Slingshot (www.slingshot.co.nz) also offer 'slipstream' for an additional $8 per month on top of the $16.95 for unlimited dialup. So all up that's $24.95 per month for up to 3x faster web browsing. Quicksilver's charges are $22.95 + $10 = $32.95 per month. Unfortunately Slingshot don't support v.92 (www.slingshot.co.nz). :( |
