153592 2003-06-19 09:19:00 I have just purchased Freelancer yesterday. I am up to the part where I can use the jump gates to get to the Texas solar system, but each time I go into the jump gate, XP Home crashes with a STOP error. Will new drivers and the Freelancer patch fix this, and has anyone else had similar problems?

Just in case, these are my system specs:
XP Home (no service pack)
Athlon XP 2000+ CPU
Gigabyte GA7VAX1394 m/b
Pixelview GeForce FX 5600 vid card

If anyone can help, it would be great.

153593 2003-06-19 09:32:00 Ive run it fine with the 40.** Detonators and I had the Pre-release 'Marketing Gold' version :-)
WinXP Pro no SP, and Athlon XP 1700+
GF4 MX 440SE-T

Try updating detonators and get any game patches :-)

Direct X 9 will help likely too!

153594 2003-06-19 09:37:00 I had to install DX9 to get the game to run, and I'm currently downloading the 44.03 Detonator FX drivers for XP (18.5MB, murder over dial up). I have just installed the Freelancer 1.1 patch and will see if that will make any difference.

Thanks

153595 2003-06-19 13:43:00 Freelancer, nice game that. I played around with the demo and enjoyed it :). Maybe I'll buy it some time when I get some money :p PoWa (203)
153596 2003-06-19 22:19:00 yeah freelancer is a great game, theres so much freedom. but i have one complaint, its far too short!!! i completed it within the first 20 hours or so of purchasing it. you can continue to play it after completion, but theres not much point to it as you can only reach a max level of 38. also the multiplayer is a bit crap. you have to create a new player on each server, etc. Craig (448)
