| 153966 | 2003-06-21 06:01:00 | This may shock those of you that 'dislike' internet explorer, but I would like to know if anybody knows how to install more then one copy of Internet Explorer onto a single operating system . Specifically, I'd like to install versions 3, 4 and 6 installed . I know that version 5 . 0 and 5 . 5 of Internet Explorer could co-exist with version 4 . 0 (there was an option under the advanced tab) but version 6 doesn't allow this . Any ideas? |

Many functions of Windows Explorer (File Explorer) are run by IE routines, so that would probably mean that IE 6 would not co-exist. Given that it can supposedly be "removed" in XP with SP1, I imagine it still leaves large amounts of code behind. |

Pretty sure it just deletes the icons and changes the default html handler to what ever other program is installed....i seem to remember "removing" it though the xp add and remove programs option then find the .exe on my system and what do u know, she pops like it hadn't been removed at all..... |
