153847 2003-06-20 15:34:00 On this occasion that is this current version of the forums turning one years old from when it went live. I thought I would post up some memorable events that have happened over the history of PressF1 (http://www.pressf1.co.nz) so far, well since I've been here anyway.
For those of you that haven't been here for very long, these forums were very different before the current version came around, if someone had an image of it I would be very grateful.

Please remember not to reply to these threads as it will just get annoying

This was when robo was looking at starting a weekly Geek of the Week prize. This would have to be one of the best threads that I can remember happening it got to over 200 posts from what I can remember. It's a pity that lots of the posts seem to be missing from what was originally there. I wonder what did happen to those prizes, I want my pocket protectors?

This was a brilliant ad campaign by Compaq which involved a banner ad as well as a Flash generated iPAQ that would follow your mouse pointer around the page. Another view (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) on the advert. Doesn't matter what they say, I thought it was good.

The last post of 2001. SY had a race with me to get the first post for 2002, he got it in the end. He won a prize for that as well, I got one for a good effort. Some others got them for the "first genuine question/answer".

SY and his overclocking questions. He then went on to overclock it to 166 I think it was.

Good stuff Susan! I was hoping nobody else would remember so that I could start the happy birthday thread ;) It's easy for me to remember, because today is also Michal's 1st birthday - she's the same age as the new Press F1 :D But you beat me to it (being up in the middle of the night helped for you though - I was fast asleep!)

Ah, she's awake... I'd better go and say happy birthday to her too :)

Wish Michal and her mum Congratulations and Happy Birthday -- it is hard to believe it is a whole year ago. Seems like yesterday that those Old Wive's Tales were being knocked for a six left, right and centre! :D
