153907 2003-06-21 03:35:00 yes, that looks like it, looked a bit furthor and found it is actually called ... callista hospitality PMS ? does that mean its a dare i say it :p FEMALE program? it does have fits of moodiness at times till it sadly passed away....... :D

? not sure if im spose to pass on that sort of info?

just a local company, very good at what they do, just disapointing our initial computer and system had a few undefined bugs and problems.

but i would recomend them but not always certain how PF1 people react to saying who or use this such and such person...

no what i mean?

i dont want to get in crap for not asking people before broadcasting this sort of info, as we are still in contact while searching for a new puter, and playing with their toys as such ( modern phones & such)

153908 2003-06-23 02:47:00 Remember you are going to need a serial port for your PABX hookup, so steer away from anything that touts legacy free.

To keep Callista behaving at its best run it on its own machine. I have it happily ticking away on a P3-500 w/ 256RAM without any problems (We run Callista Multifunctional) and it services 300 extensions without too much bother.

153909 2003-06-23 03:03:00 wow run that by me again !

we have been told com ports? x 2 we were told stear away from usb ?

is serial and com ports same thing?

well yes this would have its own machine, but may use it for work emails at some stage.

well we have had some hickups from that power surge than first thought.....:_|

and have not had the ok to actually go and get new puter yet so they may flog this one and leave me with none if things get desperate....

any other recomendations Terry W ?

ah ??????:|?:|

> is serial and com ports same thing?

Nope, there are two different things

USB= Universal Serial Bus

Com port = ( I cant find a description for this :8} )

153911 2003-06-23 05:26:00 COM ports are Serial RS 232. Most motherboards provide for 2, but often only one is connected.
Just needs the cable and socket plus "enabling" in the BIOS to get the second one to work.

153912 2003-06-23 07:03:00 beetle. Maryann & I are in Wanganui as well. We moved from Auckland & brougt our "Grunter" m/c with us. We went to "Computer Valet" in Victoria St, right down the bottom by City Bridge. They got a second hand one (a Dell) in for us & put Windows 98se on it, then made The Grunter XP & Dell network. Can reccommend them Highly, (no I don't work there!!)
Metla may jump in here as he/she is also in Wanganui, will have lived here a lot longer than us. Good luck. Poppa John :D :D
