| 154064 | 2003-06-21 13:18:00 | Hi Everyone, Well I think i've blown it now? I'm (was) running WinXP Pro on an Athlon 1.3 with 256Mb RAM. I decided to try adding a PCI NIC and SCSI adapterto my PC @ the same time without checking any HCL's! Well now my PC won't start, I've gone through and FDISK's and reformatted my HDD but I just cant get past the setup stage on XP or 2000 at the start when it loads all your temp files then gets to "Starting Windows" (1st stage of setup process - not GUI yet!) Tried running some other diagnostics on it and mentioned something about the boot sector being missing which i knew wasn't good! Can anyone steer me in the right direction pse? As the name suggests, I'm an IDIOT!!!! |

| 154067 | 2003-06-22 04:43:00 | Hi Again, I've removed the two devices, have then run FDISK and FORMATTED my HDD. Now when I go through the procedure to install WIN XP Pro, it stops about 3-5 mins into it and hangs at the screen that says "Setup is starting windows xp" Anyone...??? |
