154752 2003-06-24 10:45:00 I dropped my Palm M125 today and it has collapsed . I attempted a Hard Reset but it won't Hotsync and reinstall . "Fatal memory problem" comes up on the screen . I am well backed up to my PC BUT I cannot open the one password memo that contains my PIN numbers etc . . . For some reason my usual password is now rejected by the Palm Desktop on the PC??

ANY ideas on how to access this important memo?? Where is it stored on the PC - I can't find a protected memo on the Palm Desktop? How to crack the password??

If I borrowed another Palm and hotsynced would this reinstate the memo? I know that a full reinstall reloads the password protected memo without a password but I can't reinstall so this option isn't available .

Thanks for any / all suggestions in advance .

154754 2003-06-25 02:39:00 The book is at home and I'm not, but one problem with dropped Palms seems to be that the memory comes unplugged . Can you open it and replug the memory? You might get lucky . :D

I haven't used the Hot Synch . . . my second hand TGPro came without such software, and I've just loaded to the CF module . . . so I don't know whether this will work . The Desktop is probably wanting to know the user name . . . which is stored in the Palm . . . to associate it with the password . Will it give you access without the Palm plugged in?

f you can borrow another Palm, give it the same user name . That ought to work .

154755 2003-06-25 03:22:00 the Palm OS Emulator might help.

you can run a virtual Palm on windows and sync it to you computer.

this might save you from having to buy/borrow a palm.

and as for the fault, I would put my $$ on the fact that thr RAM has come un-pluged or such like. if the palm can display an erroe about RAM then it is not toast yet........

good luck
