| 154658 | 2003-06-24 04:09:00 | One of Amazons postings below was interesting as it suggested the possibility of having a program to start up Internet Explorer upon completing connection to the internet with a dial up connection. Such a program would be useful for starting other apps too. Sure enough good old Simtel came up with a program to do just that, here is the write up about it: Connective Detective Ver 1.1.6 Info Connective Detective is a system tray app that runs at system startup. It adds an Online StartUp folder to your start menu, which acts like the StartUp Folder except that it launches its contents when you go online and kills them when you get offline. It saves resources by not having unnecessary apps running while you are not online. To install just unzip all files to a temporary directory and run Setup.exe It is freeware and can be downloaded from Simtel (www.simtel.net) Since I dont have dial up anymore, I havent been able to test it out. |

| 154659 | 2003-06-24 07:05:00 | Hi Terry. I thought that amazon had just got back to front what was actually happening, ie, dialup was being launched by IE. Interesting, as you prove it can be done. Ditto re dialup, looks usefull. Cheers Murray P |
